Civil Division

The Civil Division processes all civil matters, including general civil, civil harassment restraining orders, name change applications and unlawful detainer cases.

Civil Court

It is the policy of this Court to manage all cases from the time the complaint is filed until a final disposition has been achieved. Upon the filing of the complaint, the case shall be assigned to one judge for all purposes.

Civil cases are handled by Departments 4, 9, 10, 11, and 12.

Limited Civil

A general civil case that involves money that amounts to $35,000 or less. For further information visit the California Courts Self Help website.

Unlimited (General) Civil

Landlord/Tenant Evictions (Unlawful Detainer)

An Unlawful Detainer/Eviction is a civil proceeding brought by the owner of the property to obtain possession from the occupants. For further information visit the California Courts Self Help website.
